Rise brings together employers of all sizes in the UK
Join us in our mission to improve social mobility and help young people develop the skills that business needs.
Our vision
Equipping the hardest to reach young people with the skills they need to succeed in life and work.
Why get involved in Rise?
The UK ranks 21st on a global social mobility index, well behind most European countries.
Low social mobility will cost the UK economy £140 billion a year until 2050, amounting to £1.3 trillion in lost GDP over the next 40 years. Even modest increases in social mobility could increase the UK’s GDP growth by 2–4% a year.
Our objectives are:
1. Demonstrate your commitment to improving social mobility
2. Make a significant change to the career prospects of young people in the UK
3. Share best practice and learn from other organisations involved
4. Widen your future talent pool

Social mobility, the ability to transcend your socioeconomic background and climb the economic ladder, is a burning issue facing our society today. It’s not just a matter of fairness; it’s about unlocking the potential of every individual, regardless of their starting point, and building a stronger, more vibrant, and inclusive economy that works for everyone. The overall aim of Rise is to improve social mobility by helping young people develop the skills that businesses need.
“I really enjoyed the workshop and trying to help younger people relate their current skills to the workplace. It was something completely out of my comfort zone, but I am glad that I did it as it was great to be able to give something back.”
